ECO SIZE is a dry powdered one shot sizing agent, contains biodegradable polymers. In textile industries the main problem resulting from the sizing to desizing step is the high load of chemical oxidation demand (COD) found in the polymer-containing effluent these washed polymers include starch, PVA, carboxyl-methyl cellulose and acrylates. PVA is the major contributors of organic load for BOD & COD respectively. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) has the typical refractory organic pollutant with low biological degradability and limited in most cases.
The large amount of discharged PVA from industrial effluents is harmful to human health and to the environment which also may cause disturbance to aquatic life. About 80% of textile industries have PVA containing effluent problem. Because of time required for PVA biodegradation for its removal, treatment cost may not be affordable to small industries.

The polymer used has similar properties when compared to PVA & synthetic polymers. The polymer involved decomposed easily & put LITTLE or no load on effluent treatment plant. It also gives good binding strength & flexibility and good abrasion resistance to yarn, hence efficiency in weaving increases.
